I've been using these two plugins for a little while, and they seem to generate interest in people when I mention them, so I have decided to release them and see what happens.

The first plugin, Auth Only, allows only logged-in users to access your blog. It also allows you to customize your login page by adding a login.php template to your theme. Using a login template will allow you to create a customized experience for your registered users.

You will need to use a plugin like the Role Manager to edit the capabilities of roles to grant view_site capability to whichever users or Roles should have permission to view your site.

The second plugin, Kill Preview, removes the preview frame from the Write Post page in the WordPress admin. Why is this useful? Well, if your site layout is particularly involved, you might not want to load the preview when you edit a post because it could cause delays in editing. Kill Preview prevents that frame from loading, speeding up your editing.

If you really need to see the preview, Kill Preview changes the Preview link on the Write page so that it opens the preview display in a new window. This will let you preview what your post looks like on demand, rather than loading it with every page edit.

I have a few other plugins that I use for myself that I haven't released for one reason or another. Perhaps I will consider releasing a few more of these if people find them handy.

the Kill Preview Plugin is a usefull one, unfortunatly sometimes I like to see a preview of what im posting (when posts have advanced formatting) although it would seem this plugin does allow that with adding a preview button. I cant think of a application for the Authorisation plugin tho, if I have a post I only want certain people viewing I just password it and give the password to friends who ask to see it.

How are people gonna find them handy if they are not released for people to try them?
There's some secret formula involved that we can't understand... LOL ! I agree. When I read that last part I thought, "Huh?" Maybe it's sort of like the disclaimer here for posting comments, as seen above the comment box: "Comments may be altered for content at the whim of the admin. No comment is guaranteed to appear."

The reason I posted these plugins in the first place was in response to someone's IRC request, "Does anyone know of anything that...?" And the general tone in the IRC room was, "Hmm. No." Up until I said, "Yes, I have something that does just that." So, what I mean by that last paragraph is that if someone mentions a plugin they need that I have already written, I would consider releasing it. Perhaps I will even go through my list of unreleased plugins and ask if they seem useful. Many of the plugins I have written will only be useful to me, personally. Such is the advantage of having a little coding skill. Regarding comment alteration: There have been commenters in the past that have left comments that were hideously inappropriate for this forum in a lengthy discussion. Instead of deleting them outright (which is mostly what I do now, since my creative energies are usually directed elsewhere these days) I would alter them to sound more... amusing. Magic and secret formulae are not necessary for gaining insight here, though you might require some cryptographic skills.
