It’s that time again! FFAF is here.

Update: Sorry for the delay. Registrations are now open.

The makers of FFAF are running a scavenger hunt this month in commemoration of the FFAF anniversary. I’m not sure what the hunt is all about, but I hope it’s as interesting as it sounds.

Prize info after the break!

Here are the rules, more-or-less cribbed from the FFAF site:
  1. Please keep it somewhat clean...if you don't think I would post it, don't. (Note that my use of profanity here is pretty limited - there is an actual policy I abide by, but posting the policy would violate the policy.)
  2. I will delete and or edit any posts I feel are inappropriate.
  3. Please don't forget to sign your post and pimp your blog. If I don't know who you are I can't come to your blog and share the fun.
  4. If for some reason things get out of hand and I turn off direct publishing, please save your post as a Draft and I'll make sure it gets online.

To make a post, just click the Register link in the WordPress section in the sidebar. Fill out the form, log in using the credentials you supply, click “Write” in the toolbar, check the FFAF category in the box on the right side of the page, type your post into the Post box, then click “Publish”. Easy enough?

If you’re not into using your email to log in (or being eligible in the contest) you can use the guest account. Username: “guest” Password: “scaredofspam” Please leave a link to your own site in your post if you use this account.

Be sure to check out the other FFAF participants.

And now for the contest info…

If you’re looking for something to say besides, “Hi, nice blog, here’s mine: [link]”, here’s a topic to try: Favorite Performance Experience. This could be your favorite music concert, play or musical, or a mime performance in the park. Feel free to yammer about Cirque du Soleil if you like, which is a frequent topic here. Whatever you do, don’t just say, “I liked it when I saw Whitesnake. They rock!” Try to give a detailed account of your experience and why it is important to you. To be clear: You need not have performed, only attended, but if you did perform, that’s a darn cool story, too!

I’m offering a $10 Amazon gift certificate for the poster with the best story - We’ll all vote afterward! (Family members are excluded from winning prizes, but are welcome to contribute. This contest is by-the-seat-of-my-pants spontaneous, so the rules may change at any time.) In fact, as the stories start pouring in, feel free to leave comments on the posts to vote for the one you like. Be clear that you’re leaving a vote. Make your online friends come and leave a vote comment so that you can win the prize.

Last month’s contest winner was endlesstrail with the entry on What’s Snow? Since nobody “voted”, I had to choose the winner. This particular entry struck me as interesting, if only because it was a good offering from an author that doesn’t have regular access to snow. Ah, if only that were true for me today.

I’m going to run the contest again this month, and we’ll see how it goes.

Have fun, and look for my posts on the other FFAF blogs!
