Finding today’s writing motivation unmotivating, I comment on something that might get me motivated.
Collect motivational statements about writing or creativity or perserverance.  Use them to keep yourself writing.

In this exercise, I am supposed to collect motivational statements and use them to keep myself writing.  This is obviously one of those writing day suggestions that isn’t a quality, motivating idea.  That is to say, I don’t find the suggestion to collect motivational statements very motivating.

What would be very nice is a daily phrase generator that produces an interesting phrase or two-word idea about which to write.  A writer, like myself, could take this idea and produce a complete daily entry about it when he has nothing else he immediately wants to write about.

This is not to say that a daily journal-style entry is a bad idea or wouldn't suffice for writing new entries, just that sometimes it's nice to write about things other than everything you just did earlier in the day.  I wonder if I will be required to keep some kind of journal for my writing class that starts Monday.

In addition to this type of random generation, the phrase generator could tap news headlines or blogdex entries to incorporate current events somewhat into the suggestions.  I imagine a phrase being interpreted in a current-events style or in a random-thought style, depending on how interested a writer is in the news of the day.

So I've created yet another project that I will probably not even attempt, let alone complete.  Sigh.
