I’ve been somewhat neglect in posting photos to the site. That’s one of its core reasons for being, right? So here we go…

I was thinking during my drive home last night that it might be nice to take Abby out on her new sled, which was provided by her Aunt Maryann and Uncle Ryan. I don’t think I realized what I was in for.

We don’t really have anyplace special to go sledding, and we should probably correct that. After dinner, I took Abby out for a drag around the front yard and down the neighbor’s sloping open lot. It wasn’t too bad, since most of the time I just kicked the sled and it moved quite a distance. Actually, the sled and snow did a good job of keeping Abby moving. It was the trip back up the slope that was tricky.

I didn’t think of it until after we had gone inside and Berta suggested it, but I probably should have carried the sled back up the slope. Instead, with Abby still on, I put my hands on either side of her on the sled and plowed yher back up the hill. After the third time I was ready to pas out. Well, at least she enjoyed it.

We chased each other around the front yard, like we usually do when there’s no snow, and Abby made a couple of snow angels. The better of the two is pictured here.

In the back yard we looked for the sled with the rope for pulling, but couldn’t find it. Instead, we drew letters in the snow and kicked a ball around. I really think that Abby needs to get outside more, even if it’s cold. We’ll have to work on that.

And then she did something - I can’t remember what - that she needed to take off her gloves for, and she got her hands wet. And that was the end of that. She said she was too cold, and that she had to go inside to get hot chocolate to get warm. Uh, ok. :)
