Snow: The Bad and the Ugly

I grew up in the lowlands, and there was no snow, but rain. When I moved to Cologne, there still was no snow, but yet a lot of rain. No snow experiences for me, I’m sorry. However, I decided to post something completly senseless instead :-). Gerd

Here we go:

Ten frozen digits

Hey!

Just dropping by and wondering if you wear mittens or gloves? I, myself, prefer gloves and have had them on all day. That in itself makes typing very difficult. Why am I wearing gloves at the keyboard? Because the furnace went out in my office building last night. It was -5° outside when I went into work. It was less than 45° in my office when I got to work. My office themometer only goes as low as 45°. I’m sure it was much colder because the pens wouldn’t write. Even though the fixer dudes did their wonders and had the furnace up and running a half hour later, my fingers still haven’t warmed up.

What's snow?

Let’s just say that where I live, I have to pay something like $15 just to be able to play with snow. Only thing is, it’s available 24/7. Ok, except when the place is closed. ;p

Ok, jokes aside, the only two instances where I’ve come into contact with real snow was in Korea while on holiday and while trekking in Nepal. I didn’t have any incidents during my brief enounter with said snow. Not too sure whether to be happy or sad. Still, it was a wonderful experience.
