Weird Wawa

I stopped at Wawa between dropping Abby off at school and going to work so I could get something to drink. (Wawa is the regional convenience store, named after a local farm, which was named after a tribe of indians.) A large van belonging to some car servicing company was parked oddly - it was blocking several prime parking spaces. I didn’t really get a good look at what was going on, but I was thinking, “That’s somewhat rude to just sit there and block all of those parking spots, not to mention the traffic flow, just so you can talk to your buddy while you drink your coffee.”

When I came out of Wawa, I realized what was going on.

EarthSea

I watched the rest of EarthSea last night, and I have several thoughts about it.

First, the director must have been a fan of the EarthSea books. You can tell because he allowed an amazing amount of detail from the book to fill in the parts of the movie that made no sense. It’s as if he applied his book knowledge to the characters in the movie, and as a result, those parts are missing.

The One Month Old Alarm Clock

I haven’t seen Berta in our bedroom in a while. I hope she doesn’t enjoy sleeping in the living room with Riley after he wakes up screaming in the middle of the night.

Last night was interesting. He just wouldn’t stop crying. It was the ear-splitting cry morphing into hoarseness. Around 2am I stumbled downstairs to the tune of one-month-old-alarm-clock. The eardrum-blistering wail had begun about ten minutes prior, and probably started as a mere siren much longer before that.

5:30 vs. 6:30

Can someone please explain why I can get up at 5:30am and feel rested and refreshed, but then if I go back to bed (assuming that I will feel more rested on 7 hours of sleep than 6) and wake up at 6:30am I feel like I’ve been run over by a lawnmower?
