Asymptomatic

Just when you thought you were safe from tentacled invasion, giant squid ’take over the world.

I had this funky dream last night that I had gone on a trip with Mom and Berta and some other people. There were mountains and Mom was driving. I warned her that the road ahead was slippery and that there was no guardrail, but we went over the edge anyway. The car hung over the cliff’s edge, teetering like an action movie.

Interestingly, the choice at this point was not to get out of the car, but to have a kind of psychic battle to keep the car from falling over the edge. There was no way to shift weight inside the car without it falling over, and the only way to save the carload of people was for me to take control of my dream and put the car back on the road. Anyway, I think I tied this contest with my subconscious because although the car didn’t fall over the edge, I woke up just enough to knock the dream into the next chapter.

Boy, there are a lot of things to discuss today. So let’s do the blogging thing and start with the inconsequential. It amuses me that the Eagles are now undefeated after seven games; the only undefeated team in the league this season.

I think it’s good for a local team to do well. It lifts the spirits of the folks who are into the game, and you get a general buzz during football season, waiting for the game and anticipating the win when your team is good enough to pull it off. I have to admit not knowing too much about football, as I am constantly reminded by my friends, who all seem to have played football in school. Nonetheless, the Eagles’ play this season, while it has won them a lot of games, seems kind of shoddy to me. If a “good” team comes along, the Eagles would be crushed.

I added a statistics page. It’s not very accurate because my entire archive is not online, but it is interesting to read.

You can see your standings in the “race to be the most frequent commenter on Asymptomatic”. I’m winning, of course. Although, if I had approved all of the comment spam from over the weekend, I would be second to some guy named “hold-em-poker” who is very adamant about this particular online casino that no longer exists. Hmm.
