Server software update

Tonight I installed an Ensim server software update and it was the scariest thing I have done to the server so far.

At some point I had been following the security releases for Linux and such and there was some kind of sendmail problem that I wanted to fix, so I installed a bunch of RPMs to patch up sendmail.  Everything seemed to be fine.  I didn't think much more about it.

More video game goodness

Ok, I took back Baldur's Gate.  The main problem in the end was that I had to cheat to win.  I didn't see any way to get to the end without cheating.

There was this ridiculous section of dungeon at the end of the first act that is just a spiral inward.  There are no save points.  At this point, I have used a cheat to make myself invincible and give myself all spells.  I'm getting poisoned and bitten by spiders.  There are thieves that would otherwise have killed me in one good blow.  I killed everything and I didn't level up until after the very last boss.  I made level 5.

D&D in Philly

We visited Jen at her new house in Philly this weekend to play D&D.  It's a pretty nice place.  The only thing that I didn't really like about it (and it wasn't a big deal) was the lack of yard.  Actually, that would probably suit me better than having to mow.  Of course, Abby would probably enjoy grass to stain the knees of all of her clothes.

After dinner, we played D&D.  Dave ran this City of the Spider Queen module we've been going on for a while.  I really hate drow.  I think this game is having problems, though.  As always, the first issue is that it's difficult to remember what we did in the previous session when that session took place three weeks prior, but there's nothing we can do about that since it's based around Jen's work schedule.
