I’ve heard a few people say aloud, that is, I’ve eavesdropped on a couple of people saying that Black Friday is the busiest sales day of the year, and that it is so named because it’s the day that the record books of retail stores finally go from red ink (operating at a year-to-date loss) to black ink (operating at a year-to-date gain).

And so I’m swift to point out that this is simply not the case. And while shoppers spent $22.8 Billion over the three-day weekend, 9 of the top 10 shopping days of the year are still left in the days before Christmas.

I’m just looking for an excuse to spend some time at the mall, to do my part for the economy.
