Well, it’s been an interesting week so far. As I write this, we’re preparing to leave for a day at EPCOT. I’m looking forward to Mission: Space, which is new this trip.

A quick recap, since there isn’t much time. On Saturday, we didn’t do anything, because we only arrived at the airport at 4pm. Sunday was Universal. Universal is a cool place, although not as cool as Islands of Adventure, which we aren’t doing on this trip since I’m the only elegible rider.

Universal’s big mistake was taking Abby onto the Twister ride first, which nobody remembered as being as scary as it was. I think it wasn’t really scary, just really loud. Anyway, Abby now associates the dark to scary, and every time we go into any ride line (even Peter Pan’s Flight), she squeals, “I don’t want to go on that ride; it’s scary.” So, I broke her.

Anyway, Universal was otherwise fun. We came back early since that park has a split-day for Halloween (they have 7 haunted houses you can tour after 6pm) and Abby and I went down to the pool for a while.

Monday was Disney Studios (aka MGM), and we toured a bunch of stuff. Abby had a blast at the Disney Playhouse show with her favorite TV characters. Rolie Polie Olie was a big hit.

On Monday night we stayed for Fantasmic, which was pretty neat. The auditorium was huge, and there must have been a ton of people in the park on the past trips when we missed the show. This time we made reservations at a buffet that gave us special passes to get in without having to wait too long.

Animal Kingdom was our Tuesday jaunt. We saw It’s Tough to Be a Bug and a bird show with this cool owl. They move through the air very quietly.

In the evening, we stopped at Downtown Diney for dinner and looked for Mom’s pins. We found some, and I bought a Mr. Potato Head. There’s a whole story here that I’ll tell later.

Yesterday was the Magic Kingdom, and although every ride let loose a chorus of “This ride is too scary” we got Abby on a lot of things. We had to bail out of line on the Haunted Mansion, though. Abby was so scared she was shaking, which is a shame since she had been looking forward to the “ghost ride” for so long.

In the evening, we made reservations for a character dinner in Liberty Square. We got to meet a lot of Disney furries. Abby was kind of tired, so she wasn’t too cooperative, but we did get a few nice pictures.

Well, I might have time to check in again tonight, but I hope to catch some fireworks in EPCOT. Tomorrow we have scheduled a lunch in Cinderella’s castle, which is on the second or third floor of the castle. I was very certain that the castle was mostly styrofoam that seeing the stairs before we made our reservations was a shock.

Ok, see you real soon.
