I don’t know why Downingtown did this, but instead of celebrating Independence Day on the 4th of July, they did it on the 3rd. Well, I suppose that they don’t call it Independence Day. They call it Good Neighbor Day, but still.

Abby stayed over at my mom’s last night, and when she returned her in the morning, all of the girls (Nana, Mom, Berta, and Abby) went down to the park to check out the festivities. They found the place that sells the wooden trinkets again this year. These wooden things are pretty neat. You turn a crank or spin some wheels and the whole thing comes to life.

They also all got an airbrush tattoo. Mom got a bee on her wrist. Berta got a fairy on her arm. Abby got a frog on her thigh. Abby showed everyone her frog all day long, which usually involved her pulling her shorts or dress up very far so everyone could get a good look. Little flasher.

While they were at the park, they ran into Aunt Jean’s grandson, who is in the pictures with Abby riding on the ferris wheel. Abby got on a couple of rides, all of which she enjoyed, as I predicted. As soon as she grows a couple of inches, she’ll be prime to go on some of the big kid rides at the real amusement parks.
