Yo. I was thinking it might be nice to get together with some other WordPress enthusiasts and talk to everyone about the new version and blogging, and make some new local blogging friends. And so I stopped by Meetup.com a few days ago to check on the meetup situation, and it turns out there was a meetup set for tomorrow.

So I was kind of looking forward to it. I mean, there aren’t a lot of people in the group, but hey, there was always the possibility that others could show up, right? There are certainly other blogs in this area.

Well it seems that the meetup was just one that was automatically scheduled by the system, and today, the meetup is cancelled. So I’m a little bummed. Rather than mope, I committed myself to more WordPress work than even today’s foray.

So I’m now the Philadelphia WordPress Meetup Group organizer. That’s right, someone let me take charge, and I did.

If you’re a blogger (I don’t care if you use WordPress or not, I will convert you!) in the Philadelphia area, we need to talk. You need to join the Meetup group. You need not commit to anything like showing your face in public. Heck, I’m barely suggesting anything here. All I ask is that you join, listen, and speak if the Lord inspires you. Think “Quaker”. That’s a Pennsylvania thing, you know.

I’m hoping that an impending March meetup (Where should it be? You tell me!) will get everyone moving and excited to hang out and talk about blogging and WordPress. I know of a few people that will definitely come if we can put it together, so give in already and sign up. It would be great to meet all of you!

The first step is to stop by Meetup.com and join the group. From there, the meeting schedule, message boards, and –hopefully– the photo gallery of our first meetup.

Tell your friends. We’ll see you there.
