Jack is the main character in Almost Friday. You don’t often hear his name because he’s the one speaking.
Jack was a pretty easy-going guy, but became tainted by contempt for the stupidity in the world around him. As a result, he’s quite cynical. He would like to be optimistic about his interactions with people at work and his neighbors, but they just keep letting him down.
I’m still recording chapter 9, which looks like it might not make 10pm, so I’m posting this temporary filler-like post with some actual useful information.
Some folks are having some WordPress issues with their Blogathon blogs. There are a few helpful folks over at the IRC server right now fielding questions. It’s not an official support vector, but you might be able to get support faster there than on the official support forums. Speed is of the essence in keeping your Blogathon site going.
Your children will be acutely aware of when you need to be up early and well rested, and do everything in their power to prevent you from getting a full night’s fitful sleep including asking you questions about the simplest almost rhetorical things that you’ve never had to answer and screaming so loud that they strain their larynx so that they have to scream even more.
They will do this until you just decide that you’re ready to feed them whiskey or toss them to the curb just to get 10 minutes rest, and then they’ll suddenly outright stop, leaving you mangey from pulling out hair, and irrevocably insane.
