I’ve been experiencing weird server load today. I want to blame it on the spammers, the “shemale” site pimpers, since I’ve been getting an unusual revival of spam through the comment form lately. They don’t know when to give up.

I guess they figure if they pound the site hard enough, eventually, I’ll turn off the comment filering to save processor time and that’ll let them through. Not likely.

Plugin Comment Moderation

I just wanted to note somewhere (and why not the front page?!) that using the word “plugin” in any comments you leave automatically triggers WordPress’ comment moderation here. This is a setting by my own design.

You would think that this would be a bad word for me to select as a filter here, but the general idea is this: Lots of people ask really obvious/stupid questions about plugins. If all of these comments went through instead of going to my email, there would be mass-hysteria - rioting in the streets, Wall Street suicides, cats and dogs mating, etc.
