Well, the first thing you want to know is that while going South on 95 from Wilmington, DE, one will encounter no less than 4 billion rest areas with food and gas.  Immediately South of Baltimore, the term "rest area" takes on an entirely diferent meaning.  At this point, "rest stop" means "concrete picnic tables and ancient vending machines outside of a restroom with four stalls."

 

So if you were expecting, like, a Burger King or some other fast food for a quick while-driving meal after you've been driving 2 hours, you will be sorely disappointed.  Also, after some point in Virginia, there will stop being rest stops altogether.  So prepare yourself to do your business before then.

This is good to know if you're travelling in a minivan with kids on a 5-6 hour trip, who might need to do #1 or #2 at a moment's notice.  Just sayin'.Â
