It seems like I haven’t written anything in an eon, and you might think I’ve finally grown tired of the tedium of maintaining this blog (perhaps I have, when it’s so easy to characterize as such?), but no, I’ve actually been quite busy.

Yesterday was my last day working for Kruse. I had been working there for more than 10 years, and while I’ve appreciated the time I’ve spent there which was entirely positive, it was time for me to move on. I spent the latter half of the week cleaning out my office (all of which is currently still all in my car, so I know what I’m doing today) and otherwise finalizing details of my departure.

So what’s next for me? I’ve taken a position with a development company, and I’m so excited about it. As I said in my response to the job listing, it is as if someone asked me “What would be your dream job right now?” and after I wrote it out, they offered that job to me. Seriously, it’s that cool.

Monday is both the first day of my new job and Riley’s second birthday.

We’re going to celebrate Riley’s birthday on Sunday so that we have the whole day. Riley indicated that he wants to see a movie. Actually, this desire came about and will be implemented in two separate ways. He originally said he wanted to “go in Mommy’s car-car and watch a movie”, meaning that we would watch a DVD in Berta’s van. We’re actually going to take him to the theater for the first time. He’s going to love it. I think we’re going to see Flushed Away.

Then he decided that he wants hot dogs for dinner, and cupcakes (not a birthday cake, but cupcakes) for dessert. He’s got interesting tastes, and I admire his originality for not quite being two yet.

On another note, I can’t wait to start talking about the new secret project here. It’s gonna be awesome – Revolutionary in ways that will actually make a difference. I’m excited.

With all of that, I expect that blogging will return to normal soon. Perhaps better than normal. Who knows? I should have more to say with all of these new experiences.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and Christmas is always too soon after. It’s going to be a great holiday season this year.
