• Portable sewing box or gift certificate for one.  Here's one from Joann's with dragonflies.
• Sewing instruction book (focus on general sewing, decorating/home interior)  Jo-Ann's "Your Guide To Creativity", Encyclopedia Of Sewing Machine Techniques.
• Bowling shoes - cool (size 7) - really anything is better than bowling alley shoes.  Not plain white though.  Here's a cool pair of blue/black ones.
• Ugly bowling shirt
