What a wrong-headed assumption.
The Habari Project just released version 0.9 of Habari, the software that runs this website. I've been plagued by people saying, "I'll just wait until it reaches 1.0 to try it." You really shouldn't do that. The version numbering on Habari is not like other projects. Full version numbers represent API plateaus, not stability.
Habari has been stable since it was originally launched, and there are very rare instances (soon to be one, actually) where even the in-development version is not stable. If you're waiting for a whole-number release, you're waiting too long.
Also, the next release version of Habari may not be 1.0, either. We're debating whether the features in the API we'll release next merit the 1.0 label, or whether we need a 0.10 (yes, "point-ten") release before then.
Quell your disappointment with the realization that Habari is ready for general use now. So go get it.
