Nothing is going on here.  The girls and I returned on Friday night from Johnstown, which was <sarcasm>exciting</sarcasm>.  It wasn't really a bad trip.  Short.  Everything was short.  I actually got out around town on my own for a little bit to visit the comic shop (closed).  I took some pictures that I intend to share as soon as I am within reach of both the computer and the camera.

Speaking of camera...  We got a new one.  I took Abby to Best Buy on Friday when we were "home" (more on that in a minute) to look at the digital cameras.  I had been researching the Canon A60 for about a week, comparing it to different cameras.  It looked like a good choice.  After playing with teh camera for a little bit in the store, it looked like the way to go.  When I found out that they had no A60s and that the A70 was on sale, well, I upgraded.  Anyway, Berta seems very satisfied with the camera, which can take pictures without putting much thought into it beyond "push button".  Combine that with "aim" and we're getting somewhere.  Anyway, look for a more complete article and my Ebay auction soon.

So, yeah, Thursday and Friday were days off because Nana was in the hospital.  She went in on Tuesday when she felt strangely dizzy.  The doctors admitted her and she stayed in for four days.  Berta took off Tuesday and Wednesday, and I got the next two days, so that we could watch Abby.  Thankfully, Nana came out of the the thing relatively unscathed, but the whole doctor strike thing caused much consternation and delay.  Perhaps we should have visited more often, but we (at least I) was under the impression that she wasn't going to be in that long.

The doctors in Pennsylvania are striking over the cost of medical malpractice insurance.  The opponents of putting a reasonable cap on malpractice court awards say that doctors opposed legislation that would allow patients to see what malpractice cases the doctors had lost.  I think that both of these are reasonable - award caps and open files on malpractice cases.  Of course, we won't get both, just whatever is worst for us patients.

I handed in my last paper for my writing class on Friday.  It was about Frankenstein.  I think Abby enjoyed wandering around WCU's campus.  In fact, I kind of enjoyed that, too.  I'm going to have to start actually writing things to put into the writing section.  Not to worry, though.  I had this bizarre dream last night - a kind of mutually-enforced dystopia.  Everyone had sold themselves into a weird kind of "slavery".  They didn't drink alcohol because it was against their anarchist laws.  When confronted with views that didn't mesh with their world view, they didn't know how to respond.  Plenty of good writing material there.  I think I might have to read some Ayn Rand soon and compare.  Shrug.

I stopped at the new Wegman's for lunch today.  I got some sushi and ground pork.  The ground pork was for dinner.  That places is really huge.  It looked like they had quality stuff there, but I can't imagine that the prices and quality will last.  But man, the parking lot has been packed since last Sunday.  It's another daytime old-people haven.  Sigh.

Each of these paragraphs probably deserves a complete article, but I'm not feeling motivated right now.  I should also write a Game WISH, but the topic this week leaves me feeling a bit alienated and consequently lashing back with accusations of incestuous back-patting.  But I can probably think of something nice to say.  Grr.
