Every Sunday the girls get up too early and go downstairs for breakfast. Usually Berta makes something special, and since I was up last Sunday I put together an order of pancakes.

I asked Berta how many pancakes she usually makes; what amount of ingredients she uses. She said she usually doubles the recipe on the box. Often we end up with a few (say three) extra pancakes after I eventually stumble downstairs, and so I mixed up the pancakes to her specifications.

Unfortunely, there was some kind of miscalculation, because after I had made enough pancakes to feed an army, there were still pancakes left over. The picture of the pile of pancakes here was taken before I finished cooking the other half bowl of batter.

As luck would have it, you can freeze pancakes, and that’s exactly what we did. There is a large bag of frozen pancakes in our freezer awaiting our return and another Sunday breakfast.
