I was reading this article today and wondered what exactly is going to become of our country.  I used to be proud to be an American.

I don't want to be one to linger in and be defined by the events of September 11th, but on that day, I was very much the American.  Concerned for myself, my family, my country.

Today, I'm bothered by the fact that a majority of voters would see war in Iraq based on Bush's say-so.  This bothers me because with another four years in office, Bush could affect exponential overhauls in thought-policing in our country.  At the end of those years, I would expect Bush to declare that voting for a new president would be put on hold until homeland hostilities dies down.  That way, he can be dictator for a while longer.

His crimes are depriving us of our civil rights, undermining our democratic process albeit flimsy, and inciting international riots.  He is deaf to his people and answers to a god that is a voice in his head.  He commands the media to be ignorant to his transgressions, and somehow wields the power to make them respond.

If we Americans are the devils that other countries make us out to be, then it is due to the face that our leaders put on our society, actions, and culture that makes us appear as such.  Bush is our devil.  Ashcroft is our devil.

I don't know that I can bother reading news any more because it just pisses me off.
