On the way to work this morning I noticed that Quattro Pizza is closed. The sign is laying on the ground next to the building. That place has been a pizza joint for as long as I can remember. We used to order our pizza from there a long time ago, perhaps even when we were living on Logan Ave.

They had a Dig Dug arcade machine that we played when we went to pick up pizza. I don’t remember ordering pizza for delivery ever, even if we did. I can’t recall exactly - it was too long ago. But that just shows how long this place has been around. At least 20 years.

I remember wondering, even when I was that young, how so many pizza places could afford to exist in the same town. Well time has proved me out. There is no Domino’s. There is no Pizza Hut. The only places left are Woody’s (now it has a new name and new location and their pizza is just as bad as ever), Sam’s (everyone always raved about the place, but it always looked like a dump to me), and Bravo. We usually go to Bravo, but we don’t usually order regular pizza there. Maybe pizza no longer evokes the weekly family night it once did for many families like ours.

Now, all of the pizza parlors are being replaced by sushi bars. It’s a good thing I like sushi.

Even Abby likes sushi more than pizza.
