Black Friday. One one of my virtual co-workers showed up online, and only for about an hour. So, I finished some miscellaneous stuff I wanted to get done and went out to do some errands.

Riley’s electric car part came in at Mom’s office, so I ran over there and we had lunch at the mexican place that used to be Pizza Hut, where I had a job interview with this crazy dude that wanted me to write tax software but gave me the impression he was going to stab me suddenly during our two-hour pizza interview.

Lunch was good.

On the way back home, I called Bert at work and asked her what she was up to. She was planning on heading to the mall for a party dress for Abby to wear. I told her I would come along.

We went to Macy’s (formerly Strawbridge’s, briefly Hecht’s, originally Strawbridge and Clothier) and poked around at the girl’s dresses. We got a nice kind of brown and purple dress for Abby and an outfit for Riley, too. Then we headed off to the toy store.

GeoTrax, people. This is Riley’s thing this year, so I hope he likes it. We picked up four different sets of GeoTrax trains while we were there. I convinced Berta of the marvel of these little toys.

While there (and I don’t know why I keep telling this story, but I like it) a couple of college-age girls seemed to be looking for a gift for a younger brother and had settled on Legos, but couldn’t choose one of the many sets there. I imparted my Lego wisdom - when in doubt, select the set with the most pieces. More pieces is better.

After dropping Berta off at work, I went home and repaired Riley’s Jeep. Abby and Riley rode around on it for a while, then got very frustrated when I wouldn’t let them drive in the road. We parked in the garage until Berta came home early.

With only an hour to get ready after she did get home, we dressed and whisked ourselves off to Bella’s birthday party. She turns one on Thursday. We had dinner, drinks, and cake in celebration, and got to watch the birthday girl attempt walking several times.

And then home to bed.
