Here's another one of those blasted multi-update articles...

My computer is not shipping like it's supposed to.  After emailing Monarch support a few times, it had become apparent that the floppy drive that I have ordered for my system (it's a combo floppy/6-in-1 media card reader) is not compatible somehow with the rest of the system.  And it's not the USB media reader that's the problem, but the floppy drive itself.

After fiddling around with them for a few days, they've finally agreed to include a separate working floppy drive in the system, and leave the floppy half of the combo drive non-functional.  At least I'll get the media reader.

And while all of that was agreed upon yesterday, I still haven't received shipping notification.  The system is already over a week late in shipping.  Thankfully, I ordered it long before the Christmas season, or I would die of computer witdrawal.  Well, no, because there are so many around the house, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, I was assured that the system would ship today and that I would be receiving FedEx numbers soon.  A half hour ago.  I'm not feeling optimistic, but some would call that usual.

Berta's company Christmas party is on Saturday at some hotel in King of Prussia.  We should really see about getting a room out there, and then we could stay and party with her coworkers.  Woo-hoo!

Also on Saturday we'll be going to Stan and Judy's annual Christmas party.  Every year when we do this Dave is surprised that we have friends other than our small group.  Yes, there is a whole side of me that none of you know.  It's the annual visit to the Kornaga's.  I should really get the gang together so we can go out to play paintball, then there would be another occasion for us to get together with Stan.

Berta is going out tonight with the neighborhood ladies.  They have this gift exchange sort of thing going on.  Berta put together this very nice bucket of Christmas goodies, all of which I would have imagined to amount to more than the limit of $10, but she said it did.

Tomorrow is my Discrete Math final.  I took my final exam for C++ class yesterday.  We started the test at 7:15, and I was done at 7:30.  And it only took me that long because I checked my answers.  As I was leaving, Fred (a classmate) asked me, "Are you done?"  And I said, "uh-huh," and he said, "You suck."  Yes.  Yes, I do.

Anyway, I'm not feeling good about this Math test because I have to do journal work.  We are supposed to have been doing problems from the book in our journals all semester.  (This is what I hate about school and math, I think.  Lots of problems.)  Of course, I stopped doing this work early in the semester because it seemed ridiculous to write down problems that I could do in my head.  I just never picked it back up when things started to get more difficult.

I don't want my journal to appear light, so I'll be doing a lot of catching up tonight.  I'm going to target my journal problems at things I had trouble with on my prior tests.  Hopefully that'll get me ready for the final tomorrow night.  When we were reviewing in class it didn't seem like a lot, but now that I'm thinking about it, it sure seems like a lot more material.

There are a couple of other things that are happening.  I specifically haven't mentioned a couple of topics here that I plan to write about in a bit more length when I get time and the proper photographs.

The title of this article is attributed to my most common spam email these days.  Are they trying to sell some kind of laxative?  I don't know, I don't read it.  But it amuses me when I see the title of the message, since my first thought goes directly to punctuation, and it takes me a moment to reason out why it's not so important to these spammers that their punctuation be spot-free.
