Asymptomatic

There must be intelligent life down here

So I put this in my EYE?

Well, I have no reason to expect that you would know I wear glasses.  It's actually a very light prescription.  You can barely tell that there's anything going on.  At least, that's what I've been told by people who apparently have stronger prescriptions.

So I went to the eye doctor last week for a checkup (I figured I'd fit that in after all of my family doctor visits) which was a long time coming.  I think my last visit was three years ago, because we were just on our way to Palm Springs.  So I've been slacking.

The last time I went,  I told the doctor that I might be interested in contact lenses, and we tried out a couple pairs.

Better Every Day

I've been keeping an eye on the Trac timeline for WordPress, watching new fixes come in and changes get committed. It's still not ready for public consumption, but it's moving along.

The latest commit comes from Matt in the form of a resizeable WYSIWYG post editing area. It's very cool. As of yet, it doesn't seem to retain the height of the box via cookies - I wonder if that's a reasonable enhancement to request. Still, it obeys the setting in Options|Writing for the default size of the box.

In the screenshot, you'll see a bunch of odd things, even if you've been testing the 1.6 code. First, I added some buttons for inserting more and nextpage commands. These are available as a patch in Trac.

Couch, that hurt!

We dragged the beat old couches out of the living room last night in preparation for the delivery today.

We had the old black pleather couches since we were living in the apartment. We brought them with us when we moved into the house, and Berta had since covered them with these canvas couch covers. (They're nicer than they sound.) The tops of the cushions were all torn. I'm talking giant holes. Berta thought it was time to be rid of them.

So they were having this "sale" at Raymour and Flannigan, and we got a new sofa and love seat. I say "sale" because I think that's the most I've ever paid for furniture, ever. Considering we bought the old couches at the old D-Town Farmer's Market, I'm not shocked.
