I stopped at Wawa to get my soda for the day. While I was at the register, one of the clerks said to mine, “See pumps three and four? They’re inside their cars.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll handle it,” she replied, and rung me up.

When she was done, she began to press a series of buttons on the control panel that operates the pumps. I grabbed my stuff and headed outside - into the 17-degree, 0-degree windchill.

I looked over toward the pumps, and sure enough, the guy at pump four hopped out of his van, hearing the premature “click” of the gas pump finishing. He looked around, curious why the pump had only pumped a couple of gallons into his probably empty work van.

A voice (the clerk) rang over the loudspeakers under the fueling pavilion, “We would like to remind you that you must remain outside your vehicles at all time while you are pumping your fuel. Thank you.”

The two clerks inside hopped up and down in glee, high-fiving, while the guy at the van shoved his hands in his pockets and shivered.
