What interests me is the meta-circus surrounding this situation. If this was anyone but Micheal Jackson - for example, Bob Singer from down the block from me - he would have gone to jail because he can’t afford the high-priced attorney. Even if he was found not guilty (whether he did it or not), he would be out of a job because he hasn’t been to work in months. It’s so nice to care about nothing but looking good for the CourtTV cameras.

Also, you (elsewhere in the world) wouldn’t have heard about Bob Singer on the news at all. Just another child molester from out of state. Unless they’re crazy millionaire pop stars, these stories don’t get the ratings that entertainment shows get, so they aren’t shown. Nobody cares whether Bob Singer, the machinist, goes to prison for giving boys wine and touching them inappropriately.

What happened to real news, anyway? It’s so aggravating that important things aren’t reported so people can act. For example, the local Catholic school is rezoning their property to allow increased teen driver traffic through my neighborhood where over 100 elementary school children walk to school in the morning. Think - BMWs and Audis doing 60 through 3-foot-tall kids with 60-pound backbacks. I can’t park in my garage because I can’t escape the traffic for work at that time of day. But no, let’s hear about Wacko Jacko once more. Sure, my traffic situation isn’t national news, but nobody’s reporting it.

I’m glad Jackson was acquitted. Maybe we won’t have to hear about how dull his normal life is, and we can get a smidgen of real news reporting.
