A Curious Thing

While on the road toward lunch today, I saw a guy come around the bend on Marshallton-Thorndale Road and lose control of his car.

It’s one of those things where you’re in your car headed toward something that you don’t know if you want to stop where you are or press on quickly in hopes of avoiding whatever is about to transpire.

Bud

I worked with Allen Klinger at Kruse a couple of years ago. We had a worthwhile relationship, both at work and socially. We spent many good hours discussin politics, philosophy, computers, music, and other topics. After he left Kruse and moved to Oregon, we kept in touch via email and his blog, which I host on my server. I have much respect for his views on life.

Today at work we received a call from Allen’s mom. Apparently, there was an accident during his trip to Europe. While ice skating in Vienna, he slipped and hit his head. I’m sorry to say that Bud is no longer among the living.

Stinking Crib

Yesterday, Berta and I spent all day putting together Riley’s crib. When we got Abby’s real bed, we took apart the crib and somehow misplaced the hardward that held it together. As it turns out, it used a lot of specialized stuff.

There were these crazy bolts with hex heads and a large flat top. They were very long and sunk into odd little nuts that were inserted into holes in the crib frame. We lost these bolts, and could not find replacements.
